Indulge in the unique flavor of this wonderful refreshment.
Throughout the ancient history of Vietnam, up until the end of the era of the emperor,
This highly sought after tea was mostly only enjoyed by the emperor and his court.

Of Course, tea and the lotus flower, in Southeast Asia has always been a major part of the Culture no matter where you might find yourself. The combination of the two has always been A rarity. This is due to the fact that it takes the stamens of 1500 lotus flowers to flavor only a single kilogram of tea leaves.

During the Nguyen Dynasty For Emperor Tu Duc.
At night when the nectar was to its fullest, The servants would row out in the Thuy Tien lake Where the lotus flowers grew. Very carefully and gently, they would peel back each fragile Petal of the blossom and fill it with green tea leaves. Then, they would close the flower and Bind the petals with a silk string so the tea would remain dry as it absorbed the scent of the
Lotus flower overnight.

In the morning the servants would row back out to the loti, carefully open the flowers again And retrieve the tea leaves, which were freshly scented with the sweet essence of the lotus Blossom. They would return in time to prepare the tea for the Emperor's breakfast.

Today, they carefully pick the flowers just as they bloom. However, they still use the ancient method of placing the tea leaves inside the flower. They allow it to sit for 24 hours prior to drying and packaging the tea for sale.
Expect a crisp, clean flavor with a hint of vinilla, and sometimes even a slightly bitter aftertaste of anise sees. A combination of flavors that is sure to impress.
