An 12oz sealed bag of 100% Vietnamese Whole Bean Arabica (Organic but not certified) Specialty Coffee (Vietnamese Full-City Roast). Grown in the Mountains of Dalat, Vietnam. Imported to the United States direct from the farmer. Then roasted to order in small batches.
Medium roast coffees are medium brown in color with more body than light roasts. Similar to a lighter roast, they lack the oily shine on the bean's exterior. Medium roasts radiate more of a balanced flavor, aroma, and acidity. Caffeine is somewhat decreased, but there is more caffeine than in dark roast coffees which are dark brown in color, like chocolate, or sometimes almost black. They have a sheen of oil on the exterior of the bean, which is usually evident in the cup when the dark roast coffee is brewed. The coffee’s natural flavor notes are overshadowed by the flavors of the roasting process. The Darker the roast the less natural flavor notes. Starbucks roasts dark so they can achieve a consistency of flavor because every coffee crop has its own unique tastes. The coffee will generally have a bitter and smoky or even burnt taste. The amount of caffeine is substantially decreased. The Vietnamese Full-City Roast is darker than the Medium Roast but lighter than the French Roast, which gives us a great balance between the marriage of flavors.
